Local gardeners will have the chance to pick up high-quality plants and vegetables at Orange Coast College's annual Spring Plant Sale on the last three Fridays in April — April 14, April 21 and April 28 — from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The sale is hosted by OCC's horticulture department and will take place in the College's garden nursery, located adjacent to the parking lot at Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive.
The popular community event includes a large selection of vegetables, herbs, coleus, water-wise perennials and color baskets, and much more. Horticulture faculty members and volunteers also will be on hand to give out expert advice.
"This is a longstanding community event that helps people jump start their spring gardens," says horticulture instructor Lori Pullman. "We invite everyone to come and ask questions, buy plants, and enjoy the company of like-minded folks."
OCC's horticulture department has sponsored the annual Spring Plant Sale for nearly 40 years. Each year plants are produced by students who attend the horticulture program, with all proceeds going toward student projects and scholarships
