Orange Coast College's marketing and public relations department won five top awards at the annual Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO) conference awards dinner on Thursday, April 20.
OCC took first place in the Wildcard division for a wrap design of the College's Game On food truck, second place for the 2016 OCC Annual Report and again for a sports brochure series, and third place for the Dennis Kelly Public Aquarium logo design and a promotional video highlighting OCC's marine science students interacting with gray whales in Baja California.
"Our PR and marketing area is charged with projecting the brand of OCC. It's nice to see the hard work of our department recognized by fellow communication peers," said Marketing and Public Relations Director Juan Gutierrez.
CCPRO is a statewide professional development and service organization that seeks to promote excellence in California's community college public relations and related professions.
This year's competition saw more than 400 entries from community colleges across the state for publicity material in categories such as "Brochure," "Newsletter," "Social Medi Marketing," and "T PSA/Ad."
