The Orange Coast College Dance Department is launching a new master class series that will be open to the public on various Sundays throughout the 2019-2020 school year. Classes will be in modern dance, contemporary, hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, and world dance forms, taught by renowned artists from around the world. The series will be held in OCC's Gym studio B, and dancers of all ages and levels are welcome.

The first master teacher for the series is Rachel Berman, formerly of the Paul Taylor Dance Company and now the chair of the OCC Dance Department. Berman's class will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 from Noon until 2 p.m. She will teach a Paul Taylor repertory class that showcases selections from renowned modern dance choreographer Paul Taylor's vast and diverse repertory.

The second teacher of the series will be Ardyn Flynt teaching  a style of Hip Hop entitled, '"Funkamental MediKinetics" on Sunday, Oct. 6, also at Noon.

"My intention is to not only benefit our current students, but to bring the Orange County dance community, and beyond, together to share in the experience and expertise of these amazing artists," says Berman. "I want students of all ages to know we exist, and to make OCC a destination for dance!"

The cost to attend one class is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The cost for OCC Students with ID is only $5. For more information email Berman at rberman3@occ.cccd.edu
