Orange Coast College's music department has invited professional musician Tish Diaz to give a guest lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the College's Music Recital Hall
Drawing on her background of working as a freelance musician to being a member of an ensemble backing up an artist as well as performing in Broadway pit orchestras, Diaz will explore the challenges and rewards of working in multiple genres of the music business. The lecture, titled "“Surviving and Thriving: The World of the Working Musician” is open to the public and is free to attend. A reception and meet-and-greet will take place following the talk.
Diaz has worked as a keyboard artist for Andy Williams, Meat Loaf, and has performed in two national tours with Jersey Boys. She holds a B.A. in Music from the University of Southern California and is classically trained.
