Fall 2008 Activities Calendar

Announcing our upcoming activities. . .

1. Telling Luncheon with Dr. Karimi on Wednesday, November 5th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. - We received such good feedback and responses about our luncheon with Dr. Karimi that we are offering another lunch session with her. Do you ever feel homesick or experience culture shock? Come and have lunch with Dr. Karimi and some other international students to discuss issues that are important to you and learn from the discussions. Dr. Karimi was a former international student; she appreciates and understands the challenges that you might face when adjusting to a new culture. The International Center will provide lunch for this gathering. Due to space limitations, this gathering is open to 20 international students. Please reserve your seat by Tuesday, November 4th. We will need a confirmation to order lunch. We would love to hear ‘Your Story’ – so, please join us!

2. Universal Studios Hollywood – This semester the International Center is planning a fun trip to the Hollywood famous them Parks in California. General admission price to Universal Studio is $67.00. The International Center will sponsor the first 15 students that sign up for this activity by paying for over half of the tickets price! Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to enjoy Universal Studio and meet new friends. Reservation and tickets price for the first 15 students is $25. Please stop by the international center to sign up no later than Friday, October 31, 2008.

3. Spring/Winter Intersession registration for continuing students began on November 17 – You can register for Spring classes on MyOCC (on or after your appointment time) beginning November 17. Please logon to MyOCC to check for your registration appointment time. Winter Intersession will begin January 5 – January 30, 2009. Spring semester will begin January 31 – May 31, 2009. 4. The End of the Semester Dinner – The International Center is planning a fun end of the semester outing at Dave and Buster on Friday, December 5 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to relax before your finals. Come and join your fellow students and meet new friends at this fun event. The cost per person is $10.00 and the International Center will cover the rest. Stop by the International Center to reserve your seat no later than Wednesday, December 3. This event is open to the first 20 students.
