Admissions Checklist:
This is a checklist to facilitate your gathering of all the documentation required for admission consideration to Orange Coast College. All of the following items must be submitted in order to be considered for admission as an international student.
Please note that you will need Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher to download PDF versions of our application packet. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, please go to Adobe.com to download a free version of this program.
I. International Student application
Print out and complete the International Student application, which can be found here. (Please do NOT submit the regular on-line application). You can type in the International Student application electronically, print it out and mail to:

Make sure your application is completely filled out and submitted prior the application deadline.
II. Application fee
Submit a non-refundable processing fee of $30.00. We accept cash, check, money order or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Please make checks payable to Orange Coast College. All checks should be in US currency.
If paying by credit card, please complete the credit card authorization form, which can be found here.
III. Written statement
Please submit a typed written statement (1-2 pages) entitled, “Why I want to attend Orange Coast College”. Discuss the reasons for your interest in attending OCC, and include your educational and personal goals.
IV. Photograph
2” x 2” passport-sized photograph of yourself.
V. Confidential financial support information
The sponsorship form must be completed and signed by your financial sponsor (self, parent, relative, or friend), and certified by the appropriate financial institution. If the financial institution cannot complete our form, we will accept an official bank statement or letter in its place. The sponsorship form can be found here.
Please note that the bank statement or letter cannot be older than 5 months from the date your file is complete.
Individuals with US sponsors must complete a Form I-134 (affidavit of support), which must be notarized. The Form I-134 can be found here.
VI. Official academic records
Please submit official high school grade transcripts. Proof of graduation is required. Transcripts must be original, and if not already in English, must be official certified translations.
Please also submit any original and official transcripts from any of the following: language schools, colleges, or universities which you may have attended.
VII. English requirement
You may submit any one of the following:
- A copy of your most recent TOEFL score (minimum score: 500 on the paper-based test; 173 on the computer-based test; or 61 on the internet-based test). Please note that we are unable to accept TOEFL scores which are more than 2 years old.
- Passing results of your OCC English Assessment Test (available only to international students who live locally, after submitting an application and the $30 application fee).
- Completion of the appropriate level from one of the English Language schools with which OCC has an agreement. For a list of local English Language schools, please refer to page 5 of our application brochure, or contact us to receive a list.
VII. Immigration-related documents
Please submit copies of the following:
- Current and valid F1 Student Visa
- Information pages from your current and valid passport
- The front and back of your I-94 Card
- All pages of any Form I-20s you have received from every institution you have attended
- Completed transfer evaluation form (you may refer to page 13 of the application brochure, or request a copy from the International Center)
