The Student Life & Leadership Department is committed to providing co-curricular and extracurricular involvement opportunities for students to get fully engaged on campus.

To create opportunities for student involvement, leadership development, & campus engagement in support of the OCC vision and mission. 


Vision Statement

To be recognized as a critical contributor to student success and retention.

  • Continued Development
    • Statement: Encourage personal and professional development through attendance at conferences, workshops, and education
  • Inclusion
    • Statement: Promote empathetic understanding of various identities, viewpoints, finding common ground, and promoting civil dialogue to seek understanding.  Communication. Decision-making in a silo.  Refrain from judgement and assumptions based on initial perceptions. 
  • Integrity
    • Statement: Being honest with ourselves and each other.  Hold each other and ourselves accountable.  If we cannot do something the way it needs to be done, we need to be outspoken with one another.  Prioritizing projects to ensure quality.  Associating deadlines with projects and/or tasks.  Following through on our commitments.

    • Statement: Knowing the roles of individual positions and team members.  Recognizing the strengths and skills of the various team members.  Working synergistically to accomplish the team mission.  Trust and respect one another to accomplish their assigned tasks and responsibilities.
