Counseling Services

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update as of 3/31/2020:


At this time, Orange Coast College is closed until further notice out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Virtual counseling services will begin on March 31, 2020, and will continue through May 23, 2020.

The Counseling Division will begin offering Virtual services on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Virtual services will continue for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester (May 23, 2020). Please see below for more information on booking a counseling appointment with General Counseling.

General Counseling Virtual Appointments

General Counseling services at Orange Coast College are in place to help students identify and clarify personal, career, and educational goals.  The intent is to help students explore their options and make informed decisions that will improve the quality of their lives.  Our professionally trained counselors are available to assist you with the following:

  • Educational Planning

  • Career Exploration

  • Personal Counseling

  • Counseling Classes

  • Support Groups

  • Referral Services

  • Transfer Services 

Scheduled Appointments 

Beginning Tuesday, March 31, 2020, and continuing through the end of the Spring semester (May 23, 2020), virtual appointments may be scheduled online, or by telephone. All scheduled appointments are thirty minutes long (unless otherwise noted), and are based on availability.

All students scheduling a phone or ConferZoom appointment will receive an automated confirmation email with further instructions. PLEASE CHECK YOUR OCC STUDENT EMAIL FOR IMPORTANT APPOINTMENT INFORMATION. 


There are also a limited number of online appointments available using Cranium Cafe. Please be aware that students may experience technical issues and must log-in from a computer (not a smart phone) with a microphone and web camera. Please note that online appointments currently have limited availability.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact our office immediately. You may cancel via phone (714) 432-5078, through your text message reminder, or in person. Please DO NOT cancel an appointment via e-mail.  


Drop-In Counseling

Drop-In Counseling is limited to ten minutes and is appropriate for general questions only. Drop-In Counseling is generally available on Monday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Please call the Counseling Center at 714-432-5078. All students are served on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Drop-In Counseling is not appropriate for transcript evaluation, Student Education Plans or personal counseling, as drop-in Counselors do not have access to your transcript or other student records.
