Spring Intersession 2021 Virtual Walk-In Counseling
Due to limited availability of transfer counselor appointments, students are strongly encouraged to use the walk-in feature for brief transfer-related questions. Hours are updated daily (Monday-Friday). If you have not yet met with a counselor and/or do not have a student education plan, you must schedule an appointment with general counseling. Please note that availability will be limited in January.
How do I speak with someone during virtual walk-in counseling?
Students must log-in from a computer (not a smartphone) and use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers as student may experience technical issues. Click the Transfer Center Virtual Walk-in tab below and look for a counselor who has the green "ONLINE" button and click "Knock on my door" to initiate the chat to speak with a transfer counselor. Once the log-in screen appears, use your MyCoast username and password to log-in through Canvas. Please remember walk-in counseling is for brief questions which do not require looking at individual transcripts and records. *Please note hours and counselor availability subject to change

How do I book an appointment?
Click "Schedule Appointment" on a counselor's card
to view availability. An Informed Consent Statement will appear and students will need to select "Agree" in order to move forward. Log-in by clicking the Canvas option and use your MyCoast username/password, then click "Authorize" on the Cranium Cafe window that appears. The next screen will allow you to do the following steps, please proceed in this order:
- Filter by Moderator – select which counselor you would like to meet with
- Select Meeting Location – it is recommended you select “Video Meeting”. If you prefer to not do video, you can turn off video and use only audio even in the “Video Meeting” option, so please select this option
- Select Reason for Meeting – select “Transfer Counseling”
- Select Meeting Date – select which day you would like to view available appointments. You may view availability for the following week by going back to the top of the screen and click “Next Week”
Once you have made your selections and see what’s available, you may book your appointment by clicking on the time that works best and fill in the intake form that appears. Include your Student ID number, phone number, and reason for booking.
Please be aware that students may experience technical issues and must log-in from a computer (not a smart phone) with a microphone and web camera. Please use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers for these appointments and give yourself at least 10 minutes to prepare. Note that online appointments currently have limited availability.
