What is Title IX
Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that states:
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be exculed from participation in, denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Under Title IX, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct are forms of discrimination on the basis of sex. As a recipient of federal financial assistance, Orange Coast College is subject to the requirements of Title IX.
