Hi Everyone! My name is Irving Chavez Jimenez. I am a Full-Time DSPS Counselor and Instructor of Record for the DSPS Learning Center. I began my college journey at East Los Angeles College in 2008. In 2012, I transferred to Cal State Los Angeles, where I went on to earn a Bachelor's in Sociology and later a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling. I have previous work experience at Los Angeles Valley College and El Camino College working in various programs such as First-Year Experience and Honors Transfer Program. I am very passionate about working with students and helping them realize their transfer and/or career goals. Mentors and counselors played a pivotal role during my college education and I strive to do the same for students I serve. I am a father to two boys named Paul and Irving and during my leisure time I enjoy traveling with my family and playing basketball.
