Ciara and her dog, Oreo, living life to its fullest!
I am delighted to be a member of Orange Coast College DSPS team, providing direct service and support to our students enrolled in our program. I received my B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach and my M.S.in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. Prior to finding my way to Orange Coast College, I previously worked as a Graduate Student Assistant for the Department of Rehabilitation where I worked under two cooperative programs, supporting students in High School and at University. I currently, also work for a national non-profit, PolicyWorks Inc. on projects centered on Peer Mentoring. I previously worked as a Peer Mentor, a Placement Specalist, and am currently, working under a new role as a Program Development Specialist where I assist in the development of curriculum. I am active in my disability community where I serve my City as a Commissioner of Citizen's Adisory Commission on Diability (CACoD). In my free time, I
enjoy reading (mostly fiction), watching films, listening to music, working on crafts (i.e. scrapbooking), and spending quality time with family, friends, and my four wonderful pups.
