About Priority Registration

​​​​​​Priority Registration allows students who complete all steps of the enrollment process to receive a special, earlier, registration date. ​

​PRIOR​​ITY REGISTRATION ​

  • Be sure to View Your Eligibility in MyOCC t​​o see which steps you have completed, and which steps you have left to complete. 

Priority Registration Enrollment Process:


 

1. Application (Required)

Prospective students may begin applying for Fall 2016 on November 30. After the application has been processed (within 3-7 business days), students will receive a confirmation email from admissions with their student ID # and login information for their MyOCC account. 
  • Students who do not receive their student ID numbers via email within 3-7 business days must contact the OCC Answer Center at (714) 432-5772.

Financial Aid (Highly Recommended).

2. Orientation (Required)

The online orientation introduces students to MyOCC, its services and programs, policies, and expectations. Students can access the online orientation 24/7 via their MyOCC account. 

3. Assessment (Required)

Students will need to take a placement test in both Math and English. Students are welcome to test during the Assessment Center's scheduled walk-in hours to take their math and English test. They will need to bring with them a photo ID, and their student ID number to test. 

 
It is recommended that students study for the placement test, so that they can do their best and earn the highest placement possible. Students can find sample questions on the Testing Information page of the Assessment Center's website.

4. ​Student Education Plan (SEP) (Required)

After placement testing is complete, students should schedule an appointment with a counselor to develop their student education plan. Counseling appointments are scheduled a week in advance; to schedule an appointment, you can call (714) 432-5078 or make an appointment online on the Counseling Department's website. 

 

Registration (Required). 

All students who complete steps 1-4 above on or before the semester's deadline, will receive a priority registration date for that semester. Students can visit their Eligibility Page​ in MyOCC to see the steps they have completed, and to view their registration appointment. Then, students can visit the PR Registration page to learn how to register online.  ​​
