Tutors are available in the general area to help students with most classes except for English and math. Students are welcome to meet with a general tutor when a tutor is available for their subject. Tutors will help students better understand course concepts.
Study groups are available in the general area. Study groups are a good way for students to work together to learn and understand difficult material. The tutor leading the session will review concepts, answer questions and provide study skills tips. Most study groups meet once a week for 50 minutes. Students can request a study group by completing paperwork at the front desk.
Students who belong to one of several special groups on campus are eligible for a weekly individual appointment. Students must bring a signed referral form from a counselor to the Student Success Center. The tutor will review course material, answer questions, and talk about study skills. These appointments are funded by Student Equity.
Requesting A Tutor
Students request a tutor for a large variety of courses. If the Success Center does not currently have a tutor for your class, please complete a tutor request from at the front desk. This will alert staff of the need for a particular tutor and will try to locate a tutor for that subject.
