Writing and Reading

The Writing and Reading Center is an area of the Student Success Center that offers free Writing, Reading, and ESL tutoring to all currently enrolled students at OCC.  Students do not need to be enrolled in an English class to take advantage of tutoring; the Writing and Reading Center offers tutoring for writing and reading assignments for any class on campus!

Drop-Ins: We offer 30-minute, drop-in tutoring sessions, and students are allowed one session per day.  To get the most out of the session, students are encouraged to bring in their syllabus, writing prompt, and any writing they have completed.

Directed Learning Activities (DLAs): We offer Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) for students seeking a deeper understanding of specific concepts and structures in writing.

Workshops and Study and Conversation Groups: Study and conversation groups and workshops are offered for students seeking supplemental assistance in a group-oriented environment.  It is suggested that students make a reservation to guarantee a seat in these groups.  A list of our monthly study and conversation groups can be found here.

LOCATION:  Formerly C&L 101. Currently all tutoring is online via Zoom Sessions
